Q: What is a firewall?
A: A firewall is software or hardware that protects other users or computers on the Internet from taking over your computer. Microsoft provides a good fire wall with Windows XP Service Pack 2. Other companies such as Symantec, Zonelabs, TrendMicro and McAffee offer commercially available fire walls as apart of a security package or individually for your computer which often includes virus scan. In addition many wireless routers include a firewall as do other home networking appliances.
